Blackmoor Home 28 cm ceramic review

The cheapest pan in this hub and the one with the clearest instructions: Blackmoor states a ceramic, PFAS-free cooking surface and an aluminium body, and states plainly that the pan is neither dishwasher nor oven safe.

The bottom line Bought on price and honest about what it is. The hand-wash-only instruction is the part people ignore and then blame the coating for.

What you are getting

A 28 cm aluminium pan with a ceramic nonstick surface, listed at the bottom of this hub. Blackmoor states the surface is PFAS-free and that the base works on every hob type including induction. Nothing about the construction is unusual, and the price reflects that.

The two instructions that matter

The maker states hand wash only and not oven safe. Both are unusually explicit for a pan at this price, and both are the sort of line that gets skipped. A ceramic surface put through a dishwasher degrades quickly, and a Bakelite handle in an oven is a handle that will not survive it.

Where it sits in the range

This is the entry point. Above it in this hub sit pans with thicker bodies, metal handles and oven ratings — and those are the differences you are paying for, rather than a better coating.

What the maker does not publish

Base thickness, weight, and any temperature limit. Base thickness is the figure that decides whether a pan is still flat in three years, and its absence here is worth knowing.

What we like, and what we don't

Strengths

  • The lowest price in this hub, with a specification that is stated rather than implied
  • Maker states the cooking surface is PFAS-free, and says so on the listing rather than in a badge
  • Listed for every hob type including induction

Compromises

  • Not oven safe and not dishwasher safe — the maker says both, and both are real limits
  • Bakelite handle, so nothing about this pan goes past the hob
  • No base thickness published, which is the figure that would tell you how long it stays flat

Questions people actually ask

Can this pan go in the oven?

No. Blackmoor states the pan is not oven safe, and the Bakelite handle is the reason. For hob-to-oven cooking, look at a pan with a metal handle and a published oven limit.

Why hand wash only?

The maker states it, and it is the usual instruction for ceramic surfaces at this price. Dishwasher detergent is strongly alkaline and abrasive by design, and it shortens the life of a coating faster than cooking does.
